A Dorset building firm is celebrating another success after winning the Regional Company Award for the South West at the 2019 Building Safety Group (BSG) Awards.

Poole-based Greendale Construction Ltd was also highly commended in the Innovation Award category for its recent changes and implementation of a new temporary works procedure.

The BSG Awards 2019 staged its fifth annual Health & Safety Awards ceremony at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwick.

The BSG is the UK’s largest construction safety group and holds the commemoration event to mark its members’ achievements and excellence in work-related health and safety performance.

As well as the awards ceremony, the day also included keynote speeches from two high profile industry speakers: Tony Mitchell, HM Principal Inspector for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Emma Evans, Senior Associate at Pinsent Masons.

Paul Kimpton, BSG Managing Director, said: “The BSG Awards ceremony was once again a national celebration of our members’ dedicated commitment to Health and Safety in construction.

“Recognised award winners such as Greendale Construction should be immensely proud of their achievement and highly commended for their admirable approach to reducing risk in the workplace.

“It is BSG members like Greendale who make a significant contribution to raising the bar when it comes to health and safety standards across the sector, and we offer them our congratulations.”

Andy Musselwhite, Greendale’s Contracts Director, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Regional Company Award for the South West.

“I would like to congratulate every member of the Greendale team who has worked to contribute to this renowned health and safety award achievement.”
