Eight law firms competed for life in the fast lane when they raced against each other at a karting challenge hosted by Saffery Champness chartered accountants.

Ten teams, including two from Safferys, took part in the fun contest at South Coast Karting at Parley’s Chapel Gate Circuit.

Competition was fierce for first place, and a cup awarded by Safferys, with score board positions changing regularly throughout the evening.

Top honours eventually went to the Laceys team following impressive performances from Jeremy Channon, Paul Naish, Sam Burnand and Ella Gould.

Other law firms taking part were Dutton Gregory, Ellis Jones, Frettens, Humphries Kirk, Lester Aldridge, Preston Redman and Steele Raymond.

Each team contributed £100 to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care which received a cheque for £1,000.

Roger Wareham and Jamie Lane, Saffery Partners, pictured with Nicki Cluley, Vicki Gray and Ruth Wright of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, said: “The evening was a brilliant success with everyone getting stuck in, driving like they’ve never driven before.

“It was a formidable effort by all.

“We were delighted to be supporting our local community hospice, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and were joined by Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, Nicki Cluley who spoke briefly about the work that the hospice does to support patients and their families with life limiting illnesses.”

Nicki, pictured, said: “I would like to offer thanks to everyone for their wonderful generosity and support.

“We are flattered that they chose to support Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.

“Their support makes a huge difference to us.”

Sam Burnand, Marketing Manager of the winning team, Laceys Solicitors, added: “It was lots of fun and a great atmosphere with much friendly rivalry between the teams!”
