Chartered accountancy and business advice firm PKF Francis Clark, which has an office in Poole, has appointed Mandy Reynolds as its new Director of Marketing.

Formerly at law firm Stephens Scown LLP, she has worked in professional services for 20 years of her career – including ten for a ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm – and brings a wealth of experience to the role.

But her marketing track record extends wider than just professional services with managerial positions at advertising agencies, representing major brands such as NHS, Xerox and several national house builders.

As a Board member at Stephens Scown, Mandy was instrumental in changing the firm’s culture, improving employee engagement and raising brand profile which resulted in turnover doubling in six years.

She also won a number of national awards for employee engagement, client service and brand development.

Mandy said: “I am excited by this new challenge and am looking forward to making a difference in my new role.

“I have worked alongside PKF Francis Clark in the past and have always enjoyed the contact with the firm.

“It feels like a natural progression for the next stage of my career and I’ve been given a wonderful warm welcome.”

Andrew Richards, PKF Francis Clark’s Managing Partner, said: “We’re really thrilled that Mandy is joining our team.

“We have known her for a number of years and seen what a great job she has done at Stephens Scown.

“We have been impressed with her work and are certain she will help us to further develop our offering.”

Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities, has boosted its fundraising team with four new appointments.

Emma Bovey joined the team at the end of last year as Fundraising Manager.

Coming from a background of working in both commercial and charitable fields, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Karen Hay leads the events team, working in the industry for more than 25 years in both commercial and private sectors.

Previous highlights include the North of England Flower Show, Tatton Park Halle Orchestra Open Air Concert, and managing celebrities and VIPs at the Wimbledon Ball.

Naomi Richards joins the team as Corporate Fundraiser following Daisy Roe’s promotion to Trusts and Foundations Officer.

With experience in commercial communications, Naomi also worked as a charity ambassador at university, organising fundraisers, and trekking Mount Kilimanjaro.

Daisy Roe, Diverse Abilities’ new Trusts and Foundations Officer will oversee applications to relevant trusts, foundations, and grants, in order to boost the fundraising team’s income, provide valuable equipment, and extend the charity’s reach.

Mark Powell, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are pleased to make these announcements.

“Daisy has been a hard-working part of our team since joining the charity and our new starters will bring fresh insight and a wealth of experience.”

A-One Insurance Group‘s further development training programme saw 11 employees celebrate their insurance industry accreditation.

Each member of staff who advises clients demonstrated their knowledge and experience by holding the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Level 3 Certificate,  a voluntary qualification for staff working in the Insurance sector.

The qualifying staff were: Claire Brand, Ben Bronsell, Suzy Conroy, Chris Hay, John Harvey, Vikkie Holmes, Daniel Narey-McIver, Nina Nash, Gemma Parker, Darren Rolfe and Matt Warner.

Sarah Eades, Group Operations Director of A-One Insurance Group said: “I congratulate every member of the team on their hard work and efforts.

“Whilst not required by our regulators, we expect all our staff to achieve these high honours awarded by the Institute as a testament to the quality of service and expertise they personally wish to bring to our clients.”

Ian Penfold, Managing Director, added: “We remain fiercely independent and, therefore, we are able to invest in our staff and their training which, in turn, passes through to the advice we are able to give to our clients, protecting them against the unexpected.”

A-One Insurance has ten branches including three in Dorset at Blandford, Dorchester and Westbourne.

The company was founded in 1993 when Mr Penfold opened his first High Street brokerage in Westbourne.

It has grown through a series of mergers including PJ Aiken, Badbury Berkeley, Concorde Insurance, Aspire Insurance and McComish Insurance and is a top 75 UK insurance brokerage.
