Bollywood is coming to Bournemouth with the first-ever show of its kind in Dorset airing on Hot Radio from this week.

Bollywood Beats, the best of Bollywood, is broadcast every Tuesday from 9pm starting tomorrow, Tuesday June 9.

The programme, presented by Anjali, is in association with Bournemouth’s Music Lovers Bollywood (MLB) and Unity 101, the south’s Asian and ethnic radio station.

Ramesh Lal, MLB’s Chairman, said: “It’s quite a landmark for the area to have its first ever Asian music show on a local radio station.

“Bollywood Beats finally comes to the airwaves of Bournemouth.”

It provides music events and Covid-19 support activities.

The new show is sponsored by local businesses Dilli Haat and Westbourne Wines and also through a BH Coastal Lottery grant.

MLB members will be involved behind the scenes with the broadcast.

The one hour show will feature the best of Bollywood music from Raaga to Bhangra.

Hot Radio can be heard on 102.8 FM across Bournemouth and Poole and also online.

The not for profit station has more than 50 volunteers.
