Haberdasherdo, a sewing, knitting, crochet and haberdashery emporium in Bournemouth’s busy Southbourne Grove, celebrates five years in business this Saturday.

Visitors on the day can enjoy demonstrations on the sewing and embroidery machines, overlockers and cutting machines and have a go for themselves.

There’ll also be special offers available and a charity raffle to win sewing, knitting and crochet prizes – all over a slice of cake and glass of fizz.

Joining in the fun will be owner Jane Scott, who took over the previous shop, Treasure House, in 2019.

Jane ScottShe’s since faced her fair share of challenges – not least Covid hitting just a few months after opening – but the shop has gone from strength to strength over the years.

Haberdasherdo has expanded its range of fabrics and leaned into the recent resurgence in knitting and crochet, stocking a variety of wool and yarn.

Jane and the team also offer lessons and workshops, from sewing and dressmaking to learning to knit or crochet.

The birthday celebration will take place this Saturday 16 November at 32a Southbourne Grove, Bournemouth.
