More than 150 people attended the glittering ceremony which was held at Bournemouth’s Hilton Hotel on Saturday.

The event, organised by Sam Savage, Director of South Coast Events Ltd, was the seventh annual wedding supplier awards to be staged in Dorset.

Successes on the night included two awards – Bridal Wear and Grooms Wear – for Minster Bridal Boutique in Wimborne while Forum Jewellers in Broadstone won the People’s Choice, the only award based on votes.

Corfe Mullen-based Wildflower Ceremonies won the Newcomer award and also received the highest overall score.

Sacred celebrant Ellie Brooks, founder of Wildflower Ceremonies, was the first-ever celebrant to be shortlisted, and also the first to win an award.

A shocked Jay Cockett of Floral Couture by Jay, after hearing he’d won the florist award.

Sam said: “I’m always amazed by all the support for one another, it’s very heart-warming.

“The Dorset wedding industry is a really close-knit community and many companies work in collaboration, which is what the awards encourage.

“There were definitely some extremely shocked people whose names were called out as a winner, which was really lovely to see.
