Crowdfunding is to come under the spotlight at a meeting in Bournemouth.
Simon Deverell, Co-founder and Creative Director of Crowdfunder, is the guest speaker at the next meeting of Startup Grind Bournemouth on Wednesday October 23.
Since he started Crowdfunder back in 2014, the company has raised more than £70m from its 900,000 members.
Many startups and businesses across various sectors now choose to apply the collective power of the crowd to stimulate funding and growth.
Charities, community groups and political movements have also raised funds using Crowdfunder in recent years.
Startup Grind Bournemouth attendees will have the opportunity to hear Mr Deverell’s insights on using crowdfunding to grow and fund businesses.
He will also share his experiences on starting Crowdfunder, raising investment, the rise of crowdfunded political campaigns as well as the current landscape of crowdfunding.
Mr Deverell said: “It can be really difficult for any business to get the funding they require.
“Approximately, only 0.05 per cent of small businesses raise venture capital.
“I am really looking forward to speaking at Startup Grind Bournemouth and sharing not only my experience with Crowdfunder but also how business can successfully use crowdfunding to stimulate growth.”
Startup Grind Bournemouth holds talks each month where startup businesses in Bournemouth can learn entrepreneurial tips from various industry leaders.
Marcus Wincott, Director of Startup Grind Bournemouth, said he was delighted to have Mr Deverell as a speaker.
He added: “Attendees can expect to receive top tips and vital insights on how to raise funds regardless of the industry they operate in.
“This is not to be missed if you’re looking to raise much-needed capital!”
