Dorset Business Angels (DBA) has announced the details of its next pitch event, which will take place in Bournemouth’s Carlton Hotel on June 3rd, from 17.30.

The event will feature five companies from a variety of sectors, each seeking funding to propel their business to new heights.

DBA members and high-net-worth/sophisticated investors are invited to attend the event, which starts with networking drinks and concludes with a two-course dinner, providing an excellent opportunity for attendees to continue conversations started earlier in the evening.

  • The first company to take the stage offers a self-installed, cost-effective video analytics platform that delivers real-time data on people counts, space occupancy, and demographics for various industries. With a novel approach to rolling out new algorithms and analytics, the company seeks £250,000 to conclude their current £500,000 funding round.
  • Next up is a toilet products manufacturer that has developed an eco-friendly wet wipe alternative. With revenue exceeding £1 million and an upcoming nationwide launch with a major UK retailer, the company seeks £400,000 to scale up its business.
  • The third company presents a search engine revolutionising the second-hand circular economy. Offering a freemium model for users and a tiered subscription for businesses, the company seeks £700,000 to expand its B2B revenue stream.
  • Next, a smart security solutions provider will showcase its cutting-edge technology designed to enhance safety and security in various settings.
  • The final company is a fan-engagement marketing firm presenting its AI-based SaaS platform for sports and music events. The company seeks £250,000 to scale up marketing efforts and drive sales growth.

DBA sponsorship partner, TC Group will also present an overview of changes in tax planning strategies for companies with significant intellectual property (IP) assets.

The presentation will cover topics such as share incentive schemes, the Substantial Shareholdings Exemption, and the use of Family Investment Companies.

DBA Chairman Don McQueen is enthusiastic about the upcoming event, stating, “We are thrilled to host our next pitch event at the Bournemouth Carlton Hotel and showcase these five early-stage companies.

“Each of these businesses has demonstrated innovation, market potential, and a strong drive to succeed. We look forward to bringing together our members and investors to support these entrepreneurs in their growth journey.”

The Dorset Business Angels pitch event looks to be an engaging and informative evening, providing a platform for promising companies to connect with potential investors and develop valuable relationships.

Founded in 2013, DBA is dedicated to providing local high-net-worth (HNW) and sophisticated investors (SI) with quality private equity investment opportunities.

The investments facilitated by DBA are in the form of equity investments rather than debtors’ loans, ensuring a mutually beneficial arrangement for all parties involved. With a broad investment scope, DBA supports ventures across various sectors.

Angel investments can take the form of individual investors or syndicates comprising two or three angels pooling their funds to support a company.

This collaborative approach allows for increased investment potential and shared expertise among the investors, creating a robust support system for the businesses they back.

DBA enjoys the support and strategic partnership of BCP, TC Group, Ellis Jones and Investec Wealth and Investment. For more information about the event and to book your place, please visit the Dorset Business Angels website at click here.
