As part of the company’s ‘Communi-Tea’ initiative, which sees it committing to support local Dorset charities and causes, guests can join Maggie at the Dorchester Community Church in Poundbury on Wednesday, April 24th, for an afternoon of tea and tales.

Maggie, 70, was the Great British Bake Off’s oldest baker, and is passionate about supporting Age UK.

She said: “Tea more than any other drink brings people together like nothing else.

“Young or old, there is nothing like a cuppa! So drinking tea, (and maybe sharing a few cakes too!) is the perfect way to spend the afternoon chatting and discovering interesting things about other people!

“I am delighted to support Age UK with this tea party, where I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and chatting about baking. Come with your questions and I hope I shall have the answers!”

Attendees to the event will be treated to Dorset Tea, cakes, and captivating stories from Maggie, with the seasoned baker sharing her love for baking, her experiences on the show, and her journey to becoming a local celebrity.

Lauren Forecast from Dorset Tea says: “We are delighted to be supporting Age UK North, South & West Dorset, with this special event, helping to tackle loneliness and isolation in rural Dorset. Maggie’s passion for baking and her warm personality are sure to delight guests, raising funds and awareness for this crucial cause.”

“We believe in the power of community and the simple pleasures of a good cup of tea” added Rachel Weiss, COO for Age UK North, South & West Dorset. “This event with Maggie the Seaside Baker is an extension of our commitment to creating memorable experiences and fostering connections within our community.”

The event, which is taking place from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, 24th April at the Dorchester Community Church in Poundbury, is £5 per person, call 01305 269444 to book your place.
