Poole-based visiting and live-in care provider GoodOaks Homecare has picked up two awards at the Home Care Awards in Birmingham.
GoodOaks, which was up against hundreds of other entrants, was given both the Nutrition and Hydration Expertise and Training and Development Expertise awards.
GoodOaks Homecare was founded in Poole, Dorset in 2011 by ex-care professionals Ben Ashton and Darius Mitkus. They franchised their business in 2016 and now have over 20 locations across the UK.
They are also currently working on a project with Bournemouth University to help find ways to improve nutritional care at home for people living with dementia.
The brand has taken huge strides over the past year, offering quality training and development to their people by launching the online GoodOaks Academy.
The aim is to provide over 30 free courses for both paid and unpaid carers and to deliver targeted learning to help people who may be caring for a loved one, with no previous experience in care.
GoodOaks is also collaborating with Bournemouth University on a long term study aiming to work together to support family carers to provide nutritional care for people living at home with dementia.
Lorraine Hunt, People and Development Manager, said: “It has been really exciting working on the GoodOaks Academy, knowing we are creating short courses that will directly benefit those people looking to remain at home.”
Co-Founder Ben Ashton commented: “I am absolutely thrilled and immensely proud of our team’s accomplishments over the past year.
“Winning two awards against fierce competition is a testament to our dedication and the strides we’re making to enhance the lives of those we serve. It’s a real honour to be recognised for our commitment to the sector and passion to serve our communities.”
