Sherborne Market, GoatHill Farm, Vineyards and Yeatman Hospital each walked away with two gongs at the second Sherborne Business Awards.

Sherborne Market was named Independent Business of the Year and also overall Business of the Year.

GoatHill Farm received the Green/Eco Business of the Year and Excellence in Customer Service awards.

Vinyards picked up the awards for Digital Innovation and Retail Business.

And Yeatman Hospital won the Community Support and Ongoing Commitment to a Safer Working Environment awards.

Other awards went to Communifit, Elly Harvey Silver and Barker Group, among others.

Fifty local business leaders attended the lunchtime presentation ceremony which was held at Leweston School.

Cllr Anne Hall, Mayor of Sherborne, presented the framed awards including Business of the Year to Anna Stiles of Anna Stiles Pottery, representing Sherborne Market, pictured.

Organiser Nigel Reeve, of Marketing West Events, pictured right, said: “This was the second year of the awards and entries were up year on year by ten per cent.

“The category with the highest number of entries was the Green/Eco Business of the Year, which shows how Sherborne is adapting to current issues.

“This was closely followed by the Excellence in Customer Service award.

“It wasn’t just the awards that people focused on, it was the chance to meet and renew business relationships again.

“Businesses attending were both large established enterprises at one end of the scale to smaller new businesses at the other.

“That’s what commerce is all about.

“Sherborne Market won overall Business of the Year.

“That in itself says a great deal.”
