Interested in becoming an ‘angel’ investor?

Dorset Business Angels (DBA) is hosting an event to educate, inform and attract new investors to the possibilities and opportunities of angel investment.

It’s held on Tuesday March 10 at the Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth Carlton.

Max Wright, a DBA Director and investor, said: “We are hoping to attract individuals who might not have been involved in entrepreneurial investments before but who are keen to learn more about the considerable local investor opportunities that arise within Dorset and beyond.

“We would also be keen to welcome seasoned investors to come along and meet other members.

“The event will include brief talks from our sponsors: a presentation from Ellis Jones Solicitors around the legalities of angel investment, Saffery Champness Chartered Accountants will present on the considerable SEIS & EIS tax benefits of angel investment and, finally, Investec Wealth will discuss how to maximise your investment.

“I will also be talking personally about my own experiences over the years as a Dorset Business Angel.

“My involvement in DBA has been an incredibly enjoyable experience and I’ve made some extremely interesting and profitable investments over the years, as well as some that haven’t worked out.

“I’ve particularly enjoyed working with the other DBA members. Amongst us we have a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds.”

Anyone interested in attending the investor event is urged to book online.

The event starts at 10am, with networking and refreshments.

Presentations will follow, culminating with a buffet lunch at 12.30pm.
