“We are unbelievably thrilled and delighted.”
The reaction of Clare Gallie, Chief Executive Officer, after Lewis-Manning Hospice Care was named Overall Winner at this year’s Poole Business Awards.
Earlier the charity had won the Green/Eco Business of the Year category.
The double success comes in its 30th year.
The awards were collected by Abby Davies, Marketing and Communications Manager, and Ruth Wright, Area Fundraiser, pictured.
Clare said: “We are unbelievably thrilled and delighted to have won both the Green/Eco Award and the overall Business of the Year award.
“I am so grateful to everyone who makes our charity Lewis-Manning Hospice Care so special.
“Our patients, volunteers, staff and supporters all make up parts of the whole organisation which we often call ‘the happy hospice’.”
More than 150 entries and nominations were received for the 2022 Poole Business Awards.
Winners in the 15 categories ranged from a traditional sweet shop making fudge on its premises, Truly Scrumptious, to a dog wash business, Polygon Pets, and the mental health charity, Dorset Mind.
Organiser Nigel Reeve, of Marketing West Events, who also hosted the awards ceremony, pictured, said: “The winners are examples of the strength of local business.
“It’s businesses like these that are at the forefront of the drive to economic recovery.
“These awards are truly grassroots, promoting the range and quality of local businesses that are so often taken for granted.
“They create employment, innovate, boost local economies and open new opportunities.
“The quality of entries was high and, hopefully, the awards will give the winners the recognition they deserve to develop their businesses further.”
Around 50 people attended the lunchtime awards ceremony held at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts.
The headline sponsor was ActionCOACH West Dorset.
Marketing West Events also runs business awards in Bournemouth, Bridport, Christchurch, Dorchester/Poundbury, Lyme Regis, Purbeck, Weymouth, Wimborne, Shaftesbury and Sherborne.
