Matt Peacock, MD of Star Tech Ltd in Poole, chats about the independent service centre’s latest news.
Back in 2006, a young (27 to be precise) Matt Peacock decided it was time to leave his leading role as Technical Specialist within the local Mercedes Benz dealership.
It was a position he had earned himself through hard work and determination from age 16, with a year’s stint thrown in at Ferrari for good measure.
Recognising that the main dealers were putting profit above customer care, Matt envisioned developing an independent service centre for Mercedes-Benz and BMW owners.
A place where they would be welcomed and remembered, enjoying a coffee and a chat over business, family life or football with the team, safe in the knowledge they were being looked after and their car was getting the best attention they could wish for.
Fast forward to today and these emotive core values remain at the heart of Star Tech Ltd, Poole.
As the company celebrates its 16th birthday in April, the growing team of 17 valued staff members boasts dealer-trained experts in all fields offering servicing, repairs, MOTs and diagnostics plus much more.
This Dorset automotive business has evolved to include specialising in Jaguar, Smart and Mini alongside Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
Welcoming Lease & Fleet Vehicles
With Star Tech’s exponential growth, despite past recessions and the pandemic, there is still room for more.
Matt says “We have now become members of the 1Link System, which enables us to service and maintain lease and fleet vehicles run by the majority of major finance suppliers. This is fantastic news and a brilliant development for us.”
Electric & Hybrid Cars
Regarding the industry growth in EVs, Matt explains: “Environmental performance and accountability is certainly the way forward.
“We have installed an electric vehicle charging point and we are equipped and qualified to carry out servicing and repairs for electric/hybrid vehicles.
“We work hard to stay at the forefront of industry change as many independents don’t have trained technicians in this area of expertise.
“Our fully qualified technicians are experienced in the latest technology systems.
“We ensure they have the latest training and technical support.
“It’s a big priority for us.
“We are proud to lead the way for independent specialists in the industry.
“Our technicians have advanced IMI qualifications alongside their traditional qualifications, putting us ahead of other independents.”
The Covid pandemic has affected so many local businesses and consumers.
Supporting a local independent business whilst still being able to keep your manufacturer’s warranty, have genuine parts fitted and save money whilst getting first class customer care must surely be a ‘no brainer’?!
