Get offline, get collaborating, get back into the swing of things!

The message from #LinkedIn Local Bournemouth and Poole as it holds its first offline networking event in 20 months.

Described as a great way to meet in person people you may only know from their LinkedIn profiles, the event is at BizSpace in Wallisdown Road, Poole, on Wednesday October 20.

The theme is digital with media specialist Tom Wright talking AI, biddable media and the digital future.

Daniel Scarborough will be explaining about the digital marketing app RIFU while Steve Groom of Vissensa IT is covering cyber security and your computing edge.

Therapists will be on hand to offer after-work relaxation and pampering.

The event, at 6.30pm, is hosted by Beverley Poole of Aspire4Business.

Matthew Thomas, of Haven Financial Solutions, and Matt Smith, of Smith Hobbs Wealth Management, are co-hosts.

The food and drinks are sponsored by BizSpace Poole with Gordon Staines, Centre Manager, looking forward to welcoming guests to the breakout area at Discovery Court.

LinkedIn Local was born from the idea of four people around the world to meet LinkedIn contacts offline.

It has now grown to more than 90 countries worldwide.

There are over 1,000 followers of the LinkedIn Local Bournemouth and Poole page.

It can be seen here.

The last LinkedIn Local networking event was in February 2020, pictured.

This time Beverley said: “You can expect some great offline networking, meet showcase companies and listen to talks from specialists.

“To reassure you, we have Covid measures in place with hand gel and plenty of ventilation.

“However, if you prefer, please feel free to wear your mask and let people know how you feel about hand shaking, fist, elbow or shoe bumps.

“We are all in this together.

“I understand that some people are more concerned than others, so let’s make it a great event, respect each other and start our business messages getting out there once again.”

Previous events have seen the creation of walking and marketing discussion groups and also the raising of £4,700 for charities.

The charity for the event is MYTIME Young Carers with proceeds supporting its Christmas appeal.
