The Co-Founder of a Dorset-based travel company has hailed the appointment of a senior team member as “the rocket fuel that will enable our company to soar”.

Jenny Farenden has joined The Travel Franchise and Not Just Travel as Head of Franchise Marketing.

It’s part of a £1 million recruitment drive and expansion plan at the company, based at Aviation Business Park in Christchurch.

In her previous role, Jenny helped take Fantastic Services from a small business to Britain’s largest service franchise, ranking number seven in the UK’s Top 100 franchises and beating big-name brands like Burger King, Starbucks and Subway.

She now looks to bring the same momentum to The Travel Franchise and Not Just Travel which currently has over 500 consultants.

As Head of Marketing for Fantastic Services, Jenny led the strategic development of the brand, revolutionising the business and its processes.

She launched the brand to the global market across a number of overseas territories, made it a market leader and generated millions of pounds in revenue.

Steve Witt, Co-founder with Paul Harrison of The Travel Franchise and Not Just Travel, pictured left, said: “Jenny’s appointment is a real coup for us.

“She’s the rocket fuel that will enable our company to soar.

“Paul and I were so impressed by her that we literally had to stop the job interview to tell her she had got the job.

“Jenny is passionate about people and now brings this vibrant strategic thinking, energy, incredible leadership and creativity to our brand.

“As part of our ongoing expansion programme, Jenny will start recruiting her own team.

“We will also be appointing a Head of Travel Marketing to bolster our communications and sales strategy.

“With Jenny in place, we will revolutionise our offering and cement the company as the go-to travel franchise provider on the market.”

Jenny is charged with growing and developing the marketing team, as well as implementing new and innovative opportunities for franchisees.

She said: “I needed a new challenge and Co-founders Steve and Paul really inspired me.

“They have overcome adversity to set up this massive business from nothing.

“They are strong leaders who have done exceptionally well during hard times.

“I’m inspired by the work they did during Covid to look after their franchisees and their customers and their vision for the future.

“I simply had to be part of it.

“I was lucky to attend the recent company event with over 200 members and was blown away by how happy and motivated all the travel consultants are.

“They love what they do and love being part of the brand.

“That speaks volumes.

“Franchising is all about people – the stronger the network, the stronger the franchise.

“Steve and Paul aren’t just focused on short-term sales, but long-term development; that’s refreshing.

“I’m excited to build on this team and drive that innovation and vision forward.”

Previously, Jenny also worked as Marketing Manager for the Hyve Group, executing multi-channel marketing campaigns and developing the company’s digital products.

Earlier this month, The Travel Franchise and Not Just Travel announced Marcus Jones, formerly of Auto Trader and Reach plc, as the new Chief Revenue Officer.

It plans to double in size within the next 12 months.

The new hires are part of a £1m investment in the company, including a new management team.
