Five key promotions have been announced at a Bournemouth law firm as part of its continued commitment to recognising and promoting talent from within.

The promotions at Steele Raymond include a Partner, a Senior Associate and three Associates.

Family solicitor and mediator Lindsay Halliwell has been promoted to Partner, becoming the firm’s 16th member of the limited liability partnership (LLP).

Lindsay joined the firm in 2014 and now becomes the second Partner within the family team, alongside Head of Family, Daniel Sanders.

She has substantial experience in all areas of divorce and separation matters, including issues involving child arrangements, with particular expertise in one of the most complex family law areas relating to the division of assets for separated unmarried couples.

Lindsay is also an Accredited Family Mediator and recommended as a ‘Rising Star’ in the latest edition of the independent legal directory, the Legal 500.

Residential Property Associate Joanna Staples has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Joanna, who has been with the firm since 2010, has considerable experience in complex residential property acquisitions, sales and guiding clients through the often stressful conveyancing process.

Three lawyers have also been promoted to Associate.

She is an experienced Accredited Mediator and is qualified, where it is considered appropriate, to consult with children within the mediation process.
  • Dispute resolution solicitor Alice Toop. Alice joined the firm in 2016 and is a graduate of the firm’s trainee solicitor programme, becoming a solicitor in 2018. She acts for both individual and business clients on a wide range of commercial and construction disputes and is also a Notary Public.
  • Commercial property solicitor Rosanna Parker. Another graduate of the firm’s training programme, Rosanna deals with a wide variety of commercial property work with a particular focus on industrial and office estate acquisitions, development and subsequent sales and lettings.

Peter Rolph, Managing Partner, said: “I want to congratulate our new Partner and Associates, who have all made a fantastic contribution to our business through some very challenging times.
