Want to get to know offline the people and businesses you’re connected to online on LinkedIn?
Then LinkedInLocal Bournemouth and Poole is the place to do it.
But don’t delay.
Places for the next event, on Wednesday February 26, are strictly limited to 75 and they’re expected to be snapped up quickly.
The LinkedInLocal concept was started by four people globally who wanted to meet connections offline.
It was recently taken in by the LinkedIn brand itself with a range of terms and conditions for events.
LinkedInLocal Bournemouth and Poole has now held six events in the area.
Event locations are all sponsored and have included:
The food and drink is sponsored each time, as is the printing of the event brochure, photography and videography.
Each event has a guest speaker.
LinkedInLocal Bournemouth and Poole raised more than £4,000 for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation in 2019. The charity provides financial support for Dorset cancer patients.
It also sponsored Diverse Abilities last month.
Next month’s LinkedInLocal is at Poole Audi in Old Wareham Road, Poole, from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Welcome drinks and canapes from Zim Braai will be followed by an open discussion and meeting existing and new contacts in an informal networking area.
Proceeds from the not for profit event will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK through A Goode Experience, established in memory of Ian Goode.
Mr Goode, affectionately known as ‘Mr Bournemouth’, was the former Manager of the Pier Theatre and Manchester Hotel. He lost his battle with prostate cancer aged 66 in 2018.
Beverley Poole, Host of LinkedInLocal Bournemouth and Poole, said the concept had grown worldwide with more than 1,000 hosts in 60 countries.
She added: “Events happen regionally and offer the opportunity for people to meet in a social off media, relaxed way.
“The ethos is to get to know the people and businesses behind their profiles.
“Bournemouth and Poole has had some incredible collaborative stories happening and last summer we also held a group beach walk for health.
“It is a pleasure to manage these events.”
Beverley’s ‘right hand team’ includes Matt Smith of Smith Hobbs Wealth Management and Matt Thomas of Haven Financial Solutions.
