Two Dorset mums are the latest additions to an award-winning parenting website provider with 20 established locations across England.

While Anne-Katherin Cunningham has relaunched and expanded Poole Mumbler, now known as Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Mumbler, Georgia Hazel has launched the brand new Dorset Mumbler.

It takes in the rest of the county including Weymouth, Dorchester and Blandford.

Mumbler – which was founded a decade ago by Sally Haslewood from her kitchen table, in her hometown of Harrogate, initially as a facebook group for local parents, – now has 20 locations in Yorkshire, Cheshire, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, County Durham and Dorset.

Each Mumbler website provides everything that a local or visiting family needs to know including days out, classes and playgroups, family friendly places to eat and jobs for parents.

Last year, more than 2.9 million people visited Mumbler’s combined websites and together the Mumbler locations have more than 250,000 social media followers.

Current and recent brands that have advertised with Mumbler include holiday giant Tui, Aviva, The Week Junior Magazine, National Trust, Worcester Bosch, English Heritage, Nosy Crow books and Joe Browns.

Originally from Bavaria in Germany, Anne-Kathrin, known as AK, moved to England in 2005 with a plan to stay for two years but never left.

She has a British husband, and two children aged eight and 11.

Before taking on the BCP Mumbler Manager role, AK worked as a nanny.

Once her second child started school, she set up a business running an after-school club.

Sally, pictured left with her children, said: “I’m delighted to welcome AK and Georgia to the growing Mumbler family.

“The addition of Dorset Mumbler and BCP Mumbler takes the number of Mumbler locations to 20.

“The Mumbler brand is built on trust and support, and each Mumbler location is operated by a local parent who cares about their local community.

“These two new appointments mark an exciting period of growth for Mumbler.

“Up until now, each Mumbler location has been owned and operated as a franchise.

“This is the first time we are employing staff flexibly, to manage Mumbler locations.

“My vision for the future is that we will operate a hybrid model; offering both flexible employment opportunities and franchise opportunities.

“Both AK and Georgia are already proving to be fantastic additions to the Mumbler family.

“They both have superb local knowledge, have young families, and are passionate about developing their individual Mumbler communities.”

AK said: “I’m delighted to join the Mumbler team and I’m really excited about helping other parents find information about our amazing area.

“With the relaunch of our expanded area, BCP Mumbler can now offer a wider network for all of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.”

Georgia, who has a two-year old son and has lived in Dorset for almost ten years, used to work in shipping.

She said: “I love the area and all it has to offer, and being able to get all the information a parent needs in one place is so helpful.

“Dorset Mumbler is a one-stop shop for families to find all the information they need for activities and support.”
