New arrivals and a host of promotions as law firm’s property department continues to grow
Top law firm Frettens has announced further growth in its thriving property department with new arrivals and a host of promotions for key individuals.
The promotions include Niki Adkins, Head of the specialist Residential Leasehold Team, who is promoted to Partner in recognition of her work in establishing Frettens as a leading firm in the South for this type of work.
Niki joined the firm in 2017 to establish a specialist residential leasehold property team and has overseen a period of significant growth.
Matthew Fretten, pictured left, Managing Partner, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Niki as a Partner of the firm.
“Her team has grown and prospered under her leadership, especially in the last two years, with the addition of three new team members.
“She is seen as, without doubt, one of the leading practitioners in her specialism of law in the area, referred to by many property agents, surveyors and managers from across the UK.
“Whilst her professional knowledge and expertise is excellent, it is her commitment to developing her team members and working collaboratively with other departments that makes her an obvious choice for promotion.
“I am really excited about how much further Niki can take her department, as it continues to grow in both size and reputation.”
Niki is the ninth new Partner to be appointed at Frettens in the last three years, in a period of unprecedented growth at the Christchurch-based firm.
Matthew said: “Of the nine new partners we have appointed in this period, six have been promoted from Associate, which is something we are really proud of.
“The driving force behind our growth plans is to retain the fantastic team of experts we have put together and give them the opportunity to develop and progress their careers at Frettens.
“Niki, along with several others, has grasped that opportunity with both hands.”
In other promotions, Patsy Whitford (Commercial Property), Jennifer Smith (Conveyancing) and Will Bartley (Property Litigation), pictured right, have all been promoted to Associate.
Hannah Faith and Laura Mabin have passed their CILEX exams with Hannah becoming an Executive and Laura becoming a Senior Paralegal in the residential leasehold and conveyancing teams respectively.
Jade Baker steps up to Junior Paralegal.
Matthew said: “It’s great to recognise seven members of our team for their remarkable contributions to the firm, especially so soon after our last set of promotions.
“We’ve seen some really well-balanced growth in all departments across the firm, with Property being a contributing factor in that.
“It is fantastic to see the people responsible for the department’s success thrive, develop and progress their careers.”
Clare Hallett, pictured left, said: “As Residential Property Partner, I have seen Laura and Jade develop and apply their skillsets within the department first-hand.
“I am committed to developing all of my team and delight in watching them flourish and grow in confidence.
“Both they and Jennifer, along with all members of the department as a whole, have had a significant, measurable impact on our success over the last few years and are thoroughly deserving of their promotions.
“It’s great that other key people in our property teams have been appreciated, with Niki, Will, Patsy and Hannah all being recognised by my fellow partners in these promotions.
“These latest promotions are certainly indicative of the substantial growth that we’ve seen across the property department.”
In addition to the host of promotions, Frettens has been busy recruiting new members to its property team with four new arrivals.
Chartered Legal Executive Jo Weller has joined the firm’s Conveyancing department and will work closely with Clare Hallett, Head of the team in Christchurch.
The team is also bolstered by the recent arrivals of two administrators, Edward Carter and Lucie Luther, as well as Becky Langley who rejoins the firm as a paralegal.
Matthew said: “Recruitment is a big part of any business and has certainly been at the heart of our sustained success.
“The incredible work of our property team is reflected in our recruitment. Simply put, the amount of work that the team continues to generate, has led to the department’s expansion.
“In addition to recruitment, the driving force behind our growth plans is to retain the fantastic team of experts we have put together already and give them the opportunity to develop and progress their careers at Frettens.
“I’m very proud of both the firm and property department’s growth, and am glad to be able to appreciate that today through these promotions and arrivals.”
