Airport boss Stephen Gill has welcomed the start of flights between Bournemouth and Liverpool as “an important moment for our airport and our region.”

easyJet took off for the first time on the new domestic route from Bournemouth Airport to Liverpool John Lennon Airport at 07:50 on Saturday, July 10.

It is operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays with fares starting from £22.99.

The fare is per person one way including taxes and based on two people travelling on the same booking.

Customers booking flights with easyJet benefit from flexible policies under its ‘Protection Promise’ with the confidence that if their plans change, so can their booking.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, pictured left, said: “We are delighted to have launched our first flight from Bournemouth to Liverpool.

“This new route further strengthens our network from Bournemouth and provides more connectivity for our customers whether they are reuniting with loved ones, connecting for business, or want to explore more of the UK this summer.

“We’re committed to offering customers great value fares and more choice when they fly with us.”

Stephen Gill, Bournemouth Airport’s Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted to welcome the inaugural Liverpool flight with easyJet, creating domestic connectivity between the south coast and north west.

“As the country begins to unlock, confidence is growing in air travel and we look forward to more route launches in the coming weeks and months.

“This is an important moment for our airport and our region, and great news for business and leisure passengers in both directions.”

All easyJet customers are able to change their flights this summer without a change fee at any time up to two hours before departure.

There are no restrictions on dates or destination; customers can transfer to any flights currently on sale up to the end of September 2022, and to any other destination on the airline’s network which spans 35 countries across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
