A new Head of Office has been appointed at accountancy firm Saffery Champness in Bournemouth.

He’s Roger Wareham who takes over from Senior Partner Nick Fernyhough.

The 42-year-old joined Saffery Champness as a Supervisor in 2003 before being promoted to Senior Manager in 2008 and then Partner five years later.

He supports and advises a range of commercial clients and individuals, specialising in entrepreneurs and owner-managed/family-owned businesses.

His clients cover a range of industries, including manufacturing, creative and technology, property, recruitment, professional practices and regulated investment businesses.

They range from new start-up ventures to well-established international groups with turnovers in excess of £100m.

Roger is also a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the firm’s Entrepreneurs’ National Practice Group focusing on the issues affecting entrepreneurs and how Saffery Champness can support them.

Nick Fernyhough, 57, said: “It has been an honour to lead our office through such a significant phase of its journey with the office having almost doubled in size since I took over the position.

“I feel it is important to now hand over this role to Roger who is ideally placed to lead the office through its next exciting chapter.”

Roger said: “I am very proud to succeed Nick as Head of Office.

“We continue to see significant growth, with some really exciting opportunities in front of us.

“Our industry is in a period of significant change, both in the mix of firms operating within it but also from technology.

“We are well placed to take advantage of both of these.”

Earlier this month Dorset Biz News reported that chartered accountant Hannah Mazrae had been promoted to Partner – 13 years after being introduced to Saffery Champness as a summer intern while at university.
