Don't relax your guard on legionella with our AquaTeq perfect for ensuring a strict regime

Published: December 1, 2020 | Updated: 2nd December 2020

We may be out of the second lockdown, when many buildings were mothballed,  but now is not the time to relax your guard, writes Chris Povey.

It’s still important for businesses to ensure their legionella management regime is robust and not overlooked.

For our part, we’ve been visiting our customers, where it is safe to do so.

We’ve done so within strict health and safety guidelines, accompanied by rigorous risk assessments firmly in place, to protect them, us and families alike.

The launch of our remote temperature sensor and automatic remote flushing units – AquaTeq – couldn’t have come at a better time.

Where it is difficult for us to visit sites, or for our customers’ on-site employees to access little-used outlets – either due to access or simply just too labour intensive to get around – this concept is absolutely perfect.

You can control it all via the Genius platform, without leaving your desk or from your smart phone – it’s as easy as that.

No worrying about the safety of your operatives or being compliant with ACOP L8 – ‘Legionnaires’ disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems.’

Another key benefit to this system, particularly at this time of year, is the auto-alert function.

If your pipes are approaching a potential freezing temperature, the system will automatically flush that part of your building and send you a warning alert.

This gives you time to identify the location and avert a burst pipe, with all the problems and inconvenience that can bring.

As Mark Green, AquaCare’s General Manager, pictured left, says: “The industry and our clients have been waiting for a product like this for a long time.

“It is so forward thinking and innovative and we’re very excited to be at the very forefront of this revolutionary legionella risk management tool.

“We’ve had some really interesting calls, from installing on cruise ships, facilities management companies and care homes.”
