A family-owned property construction company has become the official partner of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.
The Harbourview Construction Co (HVC) will work closely with the club to support the local community and secondary school students in the Bournemouth and Poole area.
HVC will be running career workshops, with six-week programmes to be put in place as support for 11-25 year-olds.
They’ll aim to work with small groups, preparing them for adulthood and exploring their future career opportunities.
The aim is to highlight the opportunities and pathways within construction while working closely with the club’s Community Sports Trust.
HVC operates from a head office in Poole and specialises in providing expert construction services for residential units, commercial build, industrial premises and bespoke luxury homes.
AFC Bournemouth supported the firm at a careers fair at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimborne.
Amy Marks, AFC Bournemouth Strategic Partnerships Manager, and Fraser Read, Marketing Manager, joined the HVC team in engaging with the next generation.
It included listening to the students about their interests and where they see their careers progressing.
Amy said the club lookerd forward to working with HVC on future partnership campaigns and fan giveaways.
They would also be present at business events, developing and building connections with other local companies.
Amy added: “It’s brilliant to have HVC on board and doing some superb work with young people in the community.
“It will make a big difference having them talk with the next generation and helping inspire them to a career in the industry.”
HVC Director Miranda Clapcott, pictured left, added: “I believe we are stronger as a community and it’s great to join forces with AFC Bournemouth.
“It’s important to encourage our kids, after all they are our future.
“If we take the time to educate, support and give more opportunities to school and college leavers in construction – and the professions that are associated with it – they will in turn bring their worldly ideas and a fresh new look to the construction industry.”
