2024 proved a record year for Poole-based developer AJC Group, which managed to deliver 100 affordable homes – up from 72 a year prior.
It puts the firm well on track to hit its target of building 500 affordable homes by 2028.
Last year alone, AJC Group completed 186 units in total across three developments – The Hops in Dorchester and both Lindsay Road and its own private development, The Sloop, in Poole.
The team collaborated with three housing associations and two local authorities, including Aster Group, Abri, VIVID, New Forest District Council (NFDC) and BCP Council.
David Cracklen, director of AJC Group, hailed the record-breaking success “despite the challenging housing market”.
“Our commitment to building sustainable, affordable homes has never been stronger,” he added.
“From private schemes to large-scale affordable housing projects, every development reflects our dedication to improving lives and creating thriving communities.
“Thank you to everyone who’s worked with us in 2024 and enabled us to continue our ongoing commitment to delivering much-needed affordable housing across the Wessex region.
“We look forward to the year ahead and all the projects we currently have in the pipeline.”
The group currently has 80 affordable homes under construction across three sites – including 33 homes at Goods Yard in Broadstone for Abri, 22 homes at Hythe in the New Forest for NFDC, and 25 homes at Dibden Purlieu for Aster Group.
115 homes are also set to break ground in 2025 across three new sites.
