A family-run hearing business marked its 20th anniversary year by launching a sister venture.
The Microsuction Company offers specialist ear health services, including ear wax management and hearing aid consultancy.
It celebrated its 1000th client last week.
Further expansion of the Maiden Newton clinic is planned in 2022.
An online booking service is available for ear wax removal treatments using microsuction.
The clinic is easily accessible for clients travelling from Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport, Lyme Regis, Sherborne and surrounding villages.
Meanwhile Girlings, founded by audiologists Ian and Nicola Girling, is coming to the end of its first two decades in business.
It has operated from Sherborne’s Swan Yard since 2001.
Ten years ago, a second clinic was launched in Fordingbridge, extending the independent hearing care services to clients in Hampshire and Wiltshire.
A second generation of audiologists have joined the team with Ian and Nicola’s son, Dan, now part of the business.
Just a young child when his parents opened the Sherborne clnic, Dan joined the family business as a trainee in 2017.
He became a fully qualified hearing aid dispenser in 2019.
Nicola, pictured left, became a trainee hearing aid dispenser in 1984, qualifying two years later.
She said she could not have imagined how hearing technology would develop or that her future family business would lead in the field of clinical ear treatments.
Nicola added: “We feel thankful and privileged to have been able to serve so many long-standing clients throughout Dorset in the past twenty years – and we look forward to doing so for decades to come.
“Ian and I are delighted that our son Dan has joined our family business, enabling us to grow and secure the future of independent hearing care in our local communities.
“We look forward to continuing to provide impartial hearing advice, along with the cutting-edge hearing technology and expert clinical ear treatments for which we have built such a strong reputation.”
