Dorset law firm Ellis Jones has welcomed three new trainee solicitors.

Conor Maher, a trainee in Banking and Finance Litigation, graduated in law with European Legal Study from the University of Exeter.

He then completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law. He is working in Ellis Jones’ specialist Banking and Finance Department.

Georgina Emerson and Rebecca Bennett have both been promoted from within Ellis Jones, from the position of paralegal to trainee solicitor.

Georgina joined the firm in 2016 as a legal placement student as part of her law degree.

She has since worked as a paralegal while completing her LPC and Masters in Law at the University of Law in Guildford.

Rebecca, a trainee in dispute resolution, graduated in law from Bournemouth University.

She joined Ellis Jones’ Banking and Finance Litigation Department in 2017.

She successfully completed her LPC and LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in 2019 and is currently working in Ellis Jones’ Dispute Resolution Department.

Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, who joined the firm as a trainee in 1986, said: “Conor, Georgina and Rebecca are very welcome additions to the highly experienced and skilled team at Ellis Jones.

“They are following in the footsteps of colleagues who have built successful careers at Ellis Jones, where we have a culture of identifying and nurturing future talent.

“Seven of the firm’s Partners, including me, are former trainees.

“It goes to show the success of our approach to training and the opportunities available.”

Trainee solicitors at Ellis Jones have a two-year training contract. The comprehensive training programme provides each candidate with placements in different areas of the business.

Ellis Jones has six offices including Bournemouth, Canford Cliffs, Christchurch, Swanage and Wimborne.
