Dorset-based Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning is continuing its recent growth by entering the commercial laundry market.
Barker has launched a specialist offering aimed at boutique hotels and Airbnb properties across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and New Forest regions.
It comes 18 months after the company invested nearly £1 million into new plant and machinery, which led to significantly increased efficiencies and the achievement of sustainability goals across the business.
MD Matthew Barker commented: “The extensive refit led to increased capacity and capability of some 50% and 20% more working space, achieved through a clever redesign of the workflow and repositioning of plant and machinery.
“Branching out into the commercial hospitality sector feels like very natural and organic growth for the business and we are so pleased that over the last two years our revenue and margin has grown significantly with further exciting growth in the pipeline this year.
“Even in just the 1st quarter of 2024, our revenue in the hospitality sector has grown by over 10%. There is much positivity being felt.
“Various closures and amalgamations of larger industrial laundries over recent times have left many of their clients in the hospitality sector desperate for good quality laundry services.
“New business opportunities have become available to us and we are well prepared to service them.
“We have a great team across the whole business, which includes four retail shops in Dorset and we are proud to service so many fantastic clients across Greater London and southern England, with a weekly collection and delivery laundry service.”
