Barker logoDorset’s own Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning, the UK’s largest domestic laundry, have put their weight behind this year’s Sherborne Business Awards.

Barker will sponsor the Independent Business of the Year category at the event, which takes place in a lunchtime ceremony next January.

Matthew BarkerMD Matthew Barker said: “Independent businesses are the backbone of our economy.

“They’re the mainstay of the SME sector, which generates more employment and delivers more wealth to this country than any other sector.

“Without independent businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit that they engender, the UK would not be able to deliver the amazing technological and financial innovation that it does to the rest of the world.

“Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning would like to wish all the entrants good luck at the Sherborne Business Awards.”

Entry to the awards is free and businesses can enter as many of the 14 categories as they wish – or encourage happy customers to nominate them.

Nigel ReeveNigel Reeve of awards organisers MW Events added: “It’s brilliant to have the support of Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning.

“They’re a long-standing and respected business in the town and local area and very much a key part of the local community in which they serve.”

Entries close on Monday 27th November, with the ceremony scheduled for Thursday 11th January at The Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne.
