Stand by for a truly hair-larious way of boosting funds – and raising awareness – from one of Dorset’s favourite charities.

National Young Carers Action Day falls on March 16.
MYTIME Young Carers will be marking it with MYTIME’s HAIR2CARE campaign.
Supporters are encouraged to do something weird and wonderful with their hair, post a photo on social media using the hashtag #HAIR2CARE, and text HAIR2CARE to 70460 to donate £5.

Penelope Day, pictured left, Fundraising Director, said: “Be brave. Be bold. Be ridiculous.
“It’s just about showing support and thanks to young carers in a way that’s really visible.
“All that matters is that you care, and you show it.”
The charity is also inviting individuals and business to take part in its MYTIME2CARE campaign throughout March.
Participants will receive a calendar of good deeds, one for each day of the month.
They’re challenged to carry these out within their own communities.

Krista Sharp, CEO, pictured right, said: “There are an estimated 700,000 young carers living here in the UK.
“These remarkable young people work hard to take care of their families, day in and day out, sometimes at great personal cost.
“But young carers are not often recognised for the contribution they make to our community.
“National Young Carers Action Day represents the perfect opportunity for us all to stop and reflect on the role that young carers play within our society, and to show our appreciation for everything they do.”
MYTIME is looking for as much support as possible from companies and members of the public, both on March 16 and throughout the month.
Prospective supporters are urged to visit its website at mytimeyoungcarers.org or email Maria Tidy, Community Fundraiser, at maria@mytimeyoungcarers.org for more information and to register for the MYTIME2CARE calendar.
