Here’s where we shine the spotlight on a leading light in Dorset and ask him, or her, for answers to our part fun/part serious questionnaire.
This time… His favourite TV show is Taskmaster, he gets angry at any injustice, says his biggest frustration is the traffic around BCP and would like to be remembered for being a fun-loving person who cared unselfishly and generously.
Andy Gilbert, Chief Executive, The Water Lily Project, takes the 20 Questions’ hot seat.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?
A: Taskmaster. I love seeing how some people can really think outside the box to solve a relatively simple problem. Oh, and sometimes it’s really funny.
Q: Who would you like to share a car with?
A: Jesus. A person who was active publicly for just three years yet had such an impact, would be a fascinating person to have a chat with.
Q: The best bit of my job is…?
A:Knowing that we are making a real difference and, in some cases, literally saving a woman’s life. Just recently we had two beneficiaries we supported who had been threatened with murder by their abusive partner. These women are now safe.
Q: And the worst?
A: The constant need to focus on finance and fundraising. The Water Lily project has no funding outside of kind donations and grants, so we have to ensure that all funds received are used effectively and in the best way possible.
Q: Who was your childhood hero?
A: My Dad, the invincible, ‘can fix anything’ superhero.
Q: What’s your favourite smell?
A: Coffee; who doesn’t like a cup in the morning to get them going?
Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?
A: Pretty much any of the amazing beaches.
Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?
A: Stay focused, keep working at it and don’t be afraid to push at ‘big doors’ as they may open.
Q: What was your first record/CD?
A: Queen – Flash Gordon Album (forgive me, it was 1980 and I was young!).
Q: What gets you angry?
A: Any injustice.
Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?
A: Judging by my first album choice, I’m not sure I’m qualified to answer this question!
Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?
A: Passion for the role and entrepreneurial thinking.
Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?
A: I love a curry.
Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?
A: Steamed sponge every time.
Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?
A: The location. You have great surroundings close to beaches, plus the forest and, of course, the people.
Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?
A: Sack all corrupt MP’s who seem to believe they are above the rules that everyone else must live by. Ensure that legislation is put in place so that they cannot ever come back into politics.
Q: What’s your biggest frustration?
A: The traffic around BCP. It can take me over 50 minutes to travel eight miles from where I live to Christchurch. I used to work in Southsea, Portsmouth, and it only took me 20 minutes more to travel 54 miles in the rush hour.
Q: Where’s your favourite holiday location?
A: St Davids in Pembrokeshire. I love the rugged coastline and the surfing.
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
A: Hopefully, still with the Water Lily Project on a firm financial footing with centres in Bournemouth and Poole.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: As a fun-loving person who cared unselfishly and generously.
