It’s called the ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ and it’s set to bring some festive cheer to less fortunate children this Christmas.

Poole-based Rubicon Recruitment Group, which operates in Dorset and throughout the UK, has come up with the idea.

Its four divisions – Engineering, Industrial, Office and Specialist Sectors – are each sponsoring a separate charity or good cause to build a hamper full of toys and games for children less fortunate over the Christmas season.

The local good causes are: DEBRA, Naomi House, Julia’s House and East Cliff Rotary.

Each of Rubicon’s clients has received a unique log-in to allocate £5 to their charity of choice.

This will trigger Rubicon giving the money, on behalf of the client, to their charity, accompanying the hamper full of toys.

The recruitment group is using additional Facebook and Instagram posts each day this week to track the growth of the hampers as they’re added to.

The hampers will be delivered to each charity later this week, in some cases on Christmas Eve.

A running total can be seen on Rubicon’s website.

Lloyd Banks, Owner and Managing Director, pictured right, said: “Christmas is as much about giving as receiving.

“As well as voting for which charity receives our donation, we’re also encouraging our clients to donate toys that will be added to our hampers.

“The recipients are less fortunate children.

“With additional help from our clients, this will be our biggest reverse advent calendar yet.

“Great work so far everyone.”
