There are not too many events where you can see monster trucks, woodcutting and sheep shearing in the space of one weekend.
One where you can, however, is the annual Dorset County Show, an event dating back to the mid-1800s.
This year’s show featured a range of different entertainment, including Shetland pony racing, craft exhibitions and, of course, a variety of different farm animals.
Show Organiser James Cox said: The 2023 County Show saw two days of sunshine which, mixed with our refreshed layout, new attractions and new areas, made it one to remember.
“We welcomed around 60,000 visitors to the Show in a potentially a record-breaking year!
“400 volunteers came together to organise sections across the Show from steam to sheep and we are delighted with such a positive response across platforms since the Show.
“The Show offered businesses from Dorset and further afield a weekend of trading with some reporting great success, including a scotch egg stand which sold out of all their produce made for the two days on day one, and another had enough for over two days and also sold out entirely.
“We are so proud to bring Dorset together for such a fantastic weekend.”
Below we have collected a selection of images from the weekend.
