Spetisbury Construction, based in Wimborne, Dorset, is celebrating four decades of business success.
To mark the milestone, the company hosted a family day at the Captain’s Club in Christchurch, treating over 40 employees and their families to an afternoon of fun, featuring BBQ, drinks, live acoustic music, and a magician.
A cake, modelled on their head office at Leigh House, took centre stage.
Founded in 1984, Spetisbury Construction has built a strong reputation in the construction industry, known for its commitment to quality, professionalism, and customer service.
The company has worked across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, as well as the high-end residential market, delivering projects for a mix of local, regional, and national clients.
The company currently employs 44 staff, who are all based at its headquarters in Wimborne.
The directors, Justin Ives, Richard Barker, Roy Cake, and Martyn Openshaw, reflected on the company’s journey and paid tribute to the loyal workforce.
Justin said: “It was wonderful to celebrate this special anniversary with our staff, many of whom have been with us for years – some for decades! We’re lucky to have such a dedicated team, and the event was a chance to thank them for their commitment to the business.”
He added: “It has been good to reflect on the journey of the business and where we are at.
“2024 has been a standout year for us, the busiest we’ve seen yet. With trading levels returning to normal post-pandemic, we’ve been involved in some brilliant projects, and we’re already looking forward to more exciting work ahead.”
The team also revealed that they had recently acquired Leigh House, their home for 18 years. “Leigh House is an iconic Georgian property, and we’re proud to have brought it into the company this year. It’s a fitting symbol of our presence in the local business community and beyond. And therefore, it was fitting that our 40th birthday cake was designed as a mirror image of Leigh House!” Justin said.
