With Ringwood and Poole both now gearing up for their own October awards shows, it was Wimborne who held the spotlight last Thursday.

Businesses gathered at the town football club to celebrate local talent and find out if they’d managed to top one of the many available awards categories.

With just over 120 entries and nominations, judges praised the high quality of this year’s hopefuls.

Nigel Reeve of organisers MW Events said: “We believe that local business is the backbone of the local economy, the adapt, they innovate, they focus on what their customers want, they create employment and most of all they care about their customers.

“Many of the previous year’s winners have said how the awards have helped the profile of their business. After so much negative news it’s fantastic to see local businesses smiling.”
