Four of the best for Goadsby (Commercial)

Goadsby (Commercial) has reinforced its dominance in the South West by clinching four top-ranking places in the list of the most active agents published by Estates Gazette.

Based on the number of deals transacted during 2019, the Bournemouth-based commercial property agent scored the following successes:

  • Investments – 1st
  • Industrial – 2nd
  • Retail – 3rd
  • Offices – 4th

The rankings used the latest figures from Radius Data Exchange and were based purely on deals numbers.

Chris Wilson, Director and Head of Commercial Agency, said: “To be ranked in the top four in four sectors is a terrific result for all of the teams involved.

“It’s a great follow-up to Goadsby Commercial winning Most Active Agent in Dorset 2019.”

Former Mayor joins Lewis-Manning Hospice Care as Charity Ambassador

Former Poole Mayor and councillor Xena Dion has joined forces with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and become a Charity Ambassador.

She has agreed to help the team promote the charity’s services across East Dorset and be involved with fundraising events and initiatives.

Xena has a background in nursing and health.

While enjoying semi-retirement she still works part-time within the NHS as a health visitor/public health practitioner.

Clare Gallie, Chief Executive Officer, pictured left with Xena, said: “We are delighted that Xena has agreed to help Lewis-Manning Hospice Care at such a crucial time.

“She will help us deliver our mission to have a greater impact on individuals living with life limiting illnesses in Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset.

“As we enter this new and exciting phase we are looking for more local people to support our vision and help us promote our services to the wider community.

“We launched our Day Hospice service in Swanage this February and we are keen to attract patients and ambassadors from Wareham, Swanage and Purbeck.”

Luxury lifestyle emporium bolsters sustainable offering

Dorset-based home and interior retailer, Cuckooland, has seen a 70 per cent year-on-year growth in sales of sustainable furniture brand ‘Lifetime’ following its decision to sell more eco-friendly brands.

The retailer has recently made a move to selling more furniture with longevity at its heart, especially among its kids beds products where furniture can change and adapt to growth.

Lifetime has previously received the Green Environmental Award for its responsible and environmentally-friendly products and efforts to operate sustainably.

Senior Kids Bed Buyer Nathalie Davis said: “We are making a conscious effort as a company to become more eco-conscious and sustainable.

“Brands need to take a look at what Lifetime are doing and ‘get on board’ and start producing practical sustainable furniture that can grow with you.

“Lifetime uses selected FSC pine from Northern Europe and for every tree cut, 1.5 is planted.

“All of the factory’s energy is produced from a wind farm, and is heated from leftover material from their own production, which is also used to power homes in the local village.

“These choices by the company and their values reflect our own and so we are thrilled to have them on board.

“We hope that this is the start of all of our products becoming sustainable and stocking those that can stand the test of time.

“We’re committed to selling products that solve a problem for families, and regularly replacing furniture that a child has outgrown is a common issue that we can strive to fix.”

Poundbury-based Cuckooland recently added to its ethical offering, partnering with sustainable furniture brands Woood, as well as Swyft, a business which plans to be carbon neutral by 2021.

Residents invited by BH Live to join the ultimate HIIT Squad

Dorset residents are invited to join BH Live and Julia’s House for the ultimate HIIT Squad’ fundraising workout this month.

A challenging two-hour High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) fundraising event is being hosted at Bournemouth’s Littledown Centre on Wednesday March 18 between 6pm-8pm.

It will cost each person £10 to take part and all proceeds will be donated to Julia’s House.

Each participant will also be encouraged to fundraise via a dedicated JustGiving Page.

They’ll help to raise £60,000 for Julia’s House which will go towards funding two nurses for a year, making a life-changing difference to the local families the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice supports.

Focusing on fast-paced interval training, participants can expect to push themselves to the limits.

BH Live’s instructors, Adrian, Mina, Nicki, Claire and Sue will get everyone motivated and encourage them to dig deep and smash this two-hour charity event.

BH Live employees will also be taking part in all-day cycle challenges at Littledown, Pelhams, Stokewood, Queen’s Park, Corfe Mullen and Sir David English to bolster the fundraising.

Chris Symons and Martin Edwards.
