Greendale Construction start £2m works for Bournemouth University
Greendale Construction Limited has started work on phase 2 of Studland House for Bournemouth University.

It will see the refurbishment of the ground, first, third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth floors of the building.
The £2m works include:

Chris Kane, Director, Greendale Construction Limited, pictured left, said: “This is the third project in as many years that Greendale has taken on for Bournemouth University, with the main purpose being to modernise and provide a more professional environment for students and staff.
“The works are taking place within a live university environment, so our teams will work collaboratively to ensure there is no disruption to students and staff.”
Previously, in November 2020, Greendale successfully completed a £1.5m contract for BU which involved the entire refurbishment of the north wing of the second floor of Christchurch House on the Talbot Campus.
The works included the formation of new teaching laboratories, new microbiology laboratory with associated prep room and autoclave room, new toxicology laboratory with prep room and new project lab.

Marcin Grabowski, Estates Programme Manager, Bournemouth University, pictured right, said: “The Studland House refurbishment and remodelling project forms a part of Bournemouth University’s continuous effort to improve and transform its estate.
“This building will provide a consolidated, high quality central hub for BU’s Professional Services at Lansdowne Campus.
“As part of the University’s commitment around environmental sustainability, all major BU refurbishments must achieve the ‘very good’ rating through the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), as a minimum.
“Thanks to a fantastic effort from BU and Greendale Construction Limited, the Studland House project is currently on track to achieve BREEM ‘excellent’ rating.”

Self-employed agent takes on Meyers franchise for Weymouth
Jon Williams has purchased the Meyers Estate Agents franchise for Weymouth.
The self-employed agent previously worked at Meyers’ hub office headquarters in Poundbury.

Mark Meyer, pictured left, Founder of the UK’s first 24/7 home-based agency, said: “Jon joined us at our head office hub a year ago.
“Over that time he has taken on, and embodied, our brand values and strengthened his connections with the local community in Weymouth where he has lived and worked for most of his life.
“We are proud of how he has now invested in his faith in the Meyers’ brand by taking on a franchise of his own.
“We are looking forward to continuing to support him as he grows and develops his business in the future.”

Jon, pictured, has more than 30 years’ estate agency experience working for brands including Mann & Co, Palmer Snell, Connells and Humberts, all in and around Dorset.
He said: “I was aware of Meyers, and admired the company’s marketing, but wasn’t quite sure how they had become so successful.
“My initial training was refreshing and the past year working at Meyers has been the most inspiring of my career to date.
“The focus on client care and building relationships is key to success and will continue as I now build my own franchised business which is an extremely exciting prospect.
“Meyers Estate Agents is not on the high street, so we take advantage of the latest technology and digital marketing to sell properties as professionally and ‘painlessly’ as possible for our clients.
“Most of our work comes from recommendation and so I felt being able to give back to the local community which supports me was really important.
“In the past year I have completed a 500km walk raising £3,150 for the Weymouth Food Bank and have pledged to donate a further £50 for each personal property completion in 2021.
“I had never seen an opportunity locally to run my own estate agency business before.
“I am very thankful to Mark, and the team, for this chance to progress my own career and at the same time, provide a highly personalised service to clients looking to buy or sell properties in the region through Meyers.”
Meyers has instructed more than £1.3bn worth of property since it was set up as a franchised business in 2003.
Meyers has other home-based franchise opportunities available in various locations.
