Dudley’s Aluminium secures Dorset Police HQ project
Cardiff-based fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium will support the creation of a new headquarters for Dorset Police at the force’s Winfrith site.
The project is the third police headquarters that the fabricator has worked on in three years.
It also successfully completed Gwent Police’s headquarters in Cwmbran and South Wales Police’s headquarters in Bridgend.
Dudley’s will be teaming up with Willmott Dixon Construction Limited for the project which will include a 30,000 square foot, three-storey Grade A office building.
The design will incorporate a contemporary mixture of glazed curtain walling and facing brickwork.
The headquarters is also being designed to the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ sustainability standard and will include air source heat pumps and an array of photovoltaic panels.
Dudley’s will install Metal Technology’s capped curtain walling, doors and manual and automatic windows in addition to automatic entrance doors.

Dorset Museum in Dorchester appoints new Executive Director
Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society has appointed Claire Dixon as its new Executive Director.
She is currently Director of Museums and Deputy Chief Executive at Bath Preservation Trust.
Claire, pictured left, will take up her new post in July.
She brings a wealth of experience having spent over 15 years in the cultural sector.
At Bath Preservation Trust, as Director of Museums, she oversees four museum sites including the internationally renowned No.1 Royal Crescent, the Museum of Bath Architecture, Herschel’s Museum of Astronomy and Beckford’s Tower and Museum.
Claire has previously worked for the National Trust at both Kingston Lacy and Brownsea Island and also a stint at The Tank Museum in Bovington.
Jean Lang DL, Chair of Dorset Museum’s Board of Trustees, said: “The combination of her museum credentials and visitor experience roles position her well to make the most of Dorset Museum’s £16.4 million redevelopment.
“This saw us open a fantastic new resource for residents and visitors across the South West in May 2021, telling Dorset’s stories in bigger and bolder ways.”
Claire said: “I know the area well and I am excited about the opportunities the redevelopment provides to grow our presence as a significant regional museum.”
Elizabeth Selby, who has been Interim Executive Director at Dorset Museum since last January, has been thanked for her work and continuing contribution.

New Associate welcomed to law firm’s commercial property team
