With the summer rush in full swing on Dorset’s beaches, a new outdoor LED screen has arrived on Bournemouth Pier to help companies connect with a wider audience.
Measuring 8.88m x 2.88m, the installation is prominently featured atop the entrance to the RockReef adventure climbing centre.
It’s located partway down the pier, with visibility from the beach, road and cliff tops.
The project has been overseen by Sarah Hunter, newly appointed Managing Director of pier operators Openwide International.
She said: “We’re keen to let businesses know about this brilliant and unique opportunity to get exposure of their brand to millions.
“It comes in time for Bournemouth Air Festival, which had over 600,000 people attending last year.
“During normal operating hours adverts will be seen at least 150 times per day, and we’re offering the first advertisers the opportunity to be featured in the new promo film and marketing materials for the LED screen and on the Bournemouth Pier website.”
Sarah and the team are looking to hold viewers’ attention through the use of ‘micro storytelling’, with animated characters Bomo & Friends set to provide entertainment between paid adverts.
The screen will also use QR codes to help drive visitors via mobile to the advertiser’s site or the new Bomo website portal, which offers local news and weather updates, competitions, kids beach games and special offers.
An early adopter’s discount is available on a first come, first served basis.
