Business group and children’s charity team up to take 200 kids to the panto

A children’s charity and a business group came together to give a special treat to 200 children.

200 youngsters from Bethany School in Boscombe were taken to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Barrington Arts Centre in Ferndown in a trip organised by the Wessex branch of Variety, the Children’s Charity and funded by Bournemouth business group the BC Club.

Packed with humour, the show features local children’s entertainer Krazy Kev as Jack, with Tyler Marlow as his mother, Dame Trott.

Sam Dunning is the sinister Fleshcreep, Ashley Rettie makes a delightful Jill and Mia Taylor an enchanting Fairy Moonbeam. David Benson Phillips is the booming voice of the never seen but very evident Giant and, of course, there was the very amusing Daisy the cow.

Jack and the Beanstalk, written and directed by Krazy Kev, is running until Christmas Eve.

Frances Cornelius, chair of Variety Wessex said: “What a wonderful pantomime experience this was for all the children.

“Thank you Kev, all the cast and everyone at the Barrington for putting on an amazing show. Thank you to Shan Seewooruthun and all the members of the BC Club for funding this theatre visit and Laguna Coaches for making the children’s journey to and from school safe and efficient.

“A very happy Christmas and wonderful 2024 to you all.”
