Have your business logo featured in a video and displayed on social media in return for donating £50 to a very worthy cause.

A charity which has supported local, vulnerable and disadvantaged families with young children through challenging times has turned to crowdfunding for its latest video fundraising campaign.

Home-Start South East Dorset, which helps families in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Purbeck, South and East Dorset, has been hit hard by a double whammy.

Coronavirus has led to its services being in more demand than ever with Covid-19 placing the greatest strain on families who are already isolated, facing financial hardship, disability and mental health challenges.

Yet the charity’s fundraising efforts have been severely curtailed by the inability to hold physical fundraising events at scale.

It is now desperately keen to produce a new video to showcase its work, reaching out to families in need who can self-refer themselves to Home-Start, as well as companies and individuals who may be able to donate to the charity.

To raise funds for the video, Home-Start has turned to crowdfunding and is hoping to galvanise local companies into supporting the campaign.

Caroline Pope, Community & Corporate Engagement Manager, Home-Start South East Dorset said: “Christmas is going to be different for many of us this year.

“But for our local families in crisis, it will be harder than ever.

“We are asking local companies to donate just £50 to help us create our new video and reach out to those in need.

“Companies will get their logo featured in the video as a thank you, giving them exposure in the local area, as well as support on our social media platforms.”

Natalia DaCosta, Regional Director of The Athena Network Dorset, who made the first donation to the campaign, said: “I am delighted to be supporting this local charity that makes such a difference to people’s lives.

“Listening to the stories of people who have been helped by the charity is very moving.

“Their work really is life-changing, not just for the adults that the charity supports but the vulnerable children involved, whose childhood can’t wait.”

It costs Home-Start South East Dorset approximately £33.25 per week to support a family with specialist one-to-one volunteer support.

With a pledge of support, companies can make a positive and significant difference to the course of a child’s life, making sure that the visit can take place.

To make a donation and be featured in the campaign this Christmas please email [email protected].

Donations and company logos must be received by October 31 to be featured in the video.
