Because in a matter of weeks business troubleshooter Anthony Ford and mother-of-five Kirsti Davies will look – and feel – very different.

Ten years younger, in fact.

Both have been selected out of more than 100 entries to receive a top to toe makeover, each worth more than £14,000.

The package ranges from teeth, skin, nails and nutrition through to personal training and fitness, a new wardrobe of clothes and a professional photoshoot.

The free-to-enter contest is the brainchild of Dental Concepts to celebrate its new clinic in Canford Cliffs, Poole.

The practice has teamed up with leading Dorset businesses to offer a complete transformation package.

And now, six weeks after announcing the competition, Anthony and Kirsti have been selected.

“We’ve had over 100 entries and it has been incredibly hard to pick just two winners, as there have been so many brilliant applications.

Anthony, 48, is a well-known member of the Dorset business community and has been President of Poole Chamber of Trade and Commerce since 2016.

An insolvency and business turnaround specialist, he provides positive solutions to businesses and individuals in financial distress under the name ‘The Insolvency Guy’.

He said: “I saw the competition on social media.

“I don’t smile very much because I’m not happy with my teeth. It’s kind of held me back over the years.

“I feel a bit of trepidation about the dental side of things as I haven’t been to the dentist for a wee while.

“But I also feel super excited about the end result.”

Anthony, who has a daughter, aged 13, said he had been the butt of jokes from his partner, Sonia.

“She wondered whether £14,000 would be enough for my makeover – more like £40,000 she feels – and also has asked if they can sew my mouth up!

“But she also can’t wait to see the end result.”

Kirsti, 49, said she was hoping for a big confidence boost from her makeover, especially the work on her teeth.

“They’re awful, broken and chipped.

“I had to pinch myself when one of my daughters told me I’d won the contest. It was a shock,” she said.

Kirsti’s five daughters, pictured with their mum, range in age from 21 to 35.

Tragically her husband, Gareth, died last year just seven weeks and two days after being diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.

He was 49.

“It’s been a very tough time but I was over the moon to win the competition,” Kirsti said.

The £14,000 makeover package includes:

• A dental makeover from Dental Concepts to get the perfect smile, worth over £6,400.
• Visits to RKB by Dr Rory to use the latest technology to boost skin and complexion, valued at over £5,000.
• For Kirsti a complete wardrobe makeover from the Perfect Dress Company to provide styling tips and advice and a new wardrobe of clothes with up to ten new outfits to complete their new looks and ensure the winners feel amazing, valued at over £1,000.
• House of Heels matching those new outfits to shoes with ten new pairs of shoes valued at over £400.
• For Anthony new suits, shirts, trousers, shoes and accessories to the value of £1,000 with Ashes.
• Barbara Cox Nutritionist to give each winner a makeover so they feel amazing from the inside out worth £500 per person.
• Personal training and fitness sessions to tone up and feel fitter with 90N20 EMS Training valued at over £700 each.
• Tara Sanger Make Up Artist to complete the transformation with makeup tutorial and makeover valued at £350.
• Tiger Lily Nails to ensure each winner’s new look is completed to the tips of their fingers valued at £500. The package includes six treatments with natural face firming technology, a luxury manicure and gel polish and a podology pedicure and gel polish.

• Finishing off with a professional photoshoot with David Wheeler to ensure both Anthony and Kirsti have photos of their experience to look back on worth over £500.

Following the transformation, Anthony and Kirsti, their friends and family will be invited to attend an exclusive reveal event being hosted at Canford School next month.

The winners will be accompanied on their transformation by a videographer to capture all the key moments.

They will be kept hidden in a secret location the night before the transformation is revealed to ensure their loved ones can be surprised by their final new look.
