Precision Fuel & Hydration (PF&H), headquartered in Christchurch, has expanded its official partnership with IRONMAN® triathlon events to now cover races across Europe, South Africa, and Oceania, extending the agreement through to 2025.

Since becoming the official hydration partner for the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 European Triathlon Series in May, PF&H has delivered its PH 1000 electrolyte drink to more than 40 events, including the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, France.

This new agreement will see the company also support IRONMAN events in South Africa and Oceania, as well as the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships in Taupo, New Zealand, and the 2025 IRONMAN World Championships in both Marbella, Spain, and Nice.

PH 1000 will be available to athletes on course at every 2025 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 event across these regions.

Designed to address two key aspects of endurance sports nutrition—fluid and sodium—it forms part of PF&H’s multi-strength range. Andy Blow, CEO of PF&H, explained how this product can help athletes by saying: “Decoupling fuel and hydration allows for flexibility in longer races.”

The low-calorie PH 1000 drink, which contains roughly double the sodium of typical sports drinks, helps athletes tailor their hydration strategies based on personal sweat loss, something PF&H has developed through its Sweat Tests.

“On average, an athlete loses around 950mg of sodium per litre of sweat,” said Andy. “This product is designed to help replenish that.” It is also Informed Sport Certified, with a mild-citrus flavour to combat palate fatigue during long races.

Reflecting on PF&H’s journey, Andy shared his personal connection with the sport: “As a former IRONMAN pro in the early 2000s, I’m thrilled to continue this partnership. My experiences with hydration and cramping were the reasons we started PF&H in 2011, and we’ve been helping athletes ever since.”

Scott DeRue, CEO of IRONMAN, echoed the positive sentiment, saying: “The feedback from our athletes in Europe has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to bring PF&H’s products to even more races around the globe. I’ve had my Sweat Test and encourage all athletes to do the same.”

Looking ahead, athletes taking part in the IRONMAN European, Oceania, and South Africa races will be able to access PF&H’s free Fuel & Hydration Planner, allowing them to customise their race-day strategies. They will also have the chance to book free consultations with PF&H’s Athlete Support squad to fine-tune their nutrition plans.

Additionally, competitors signed up for races in these regions will receive special offers to test the on-course hydration products during their training. PF&H is already trusted by world-class triathletes such as Emma Pallant-Browne and Jason West.

PF&H’s products are available worldwide via their website and at select specialist retailers, including on Amazon and The Feed.
