The physical event may have been cancelled but that didn’t stop a global company from taking part in a virtual exhibition thanks to a Poole digital agency.
Rohm, a manufacturer of semiconductor and electronic parts, tasked EPM Digital with creating a virtual stand for the world’s leading exhibition and conference for power electronics.
PCIM Europe was due to be held in Germany but, like events across the world, was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The event has an annual footfall of 12,000+ visitors.
Instead a digital version of the exhibition was staged with EPM Digital creating a virtual 360-degree conference booth for Rohm.
The virtual stand brought the show to the company’s doors.
It helped Rohm to re-engage with its customers by including webinar access, an opportunity to virtually meet with Rohm sales staff and other features.
Matt Duffield, Head of 3D and Interactive, EPM Digital, pictured right, said: “With the PCIM event heading into the digital space, our client Rohm required a virtual stand where you could experience a variety of content contained in an immersive 360-degree environment which would help differentiate themselves from their competitors.
“Working together we created an interactive exhibition stand that included various nuances added by our team to make each visitor’s experience informative and enjoyable.
“This included video content, animated glowing lighting and a navigation system sympathetic to where you were when you last moved.
“There are so many opportunities to use new technology now in the virtual stand space.
“This is actually a great showcase for any company which, perhaps, wasn’t previously comfortable with taking part in virtual conferences.
“They could now start looking at the next stage of implementing real-time 3D technology to help take their customers’ virtual exhibition experiences even further.”
EPM Digital, formerly known as Electropages Media, is a full-service digital agency based in Winchester Place, North Street, Poole.
It is part of the Berkshire Hathaway group.
