CHS named as winner in CIM Marketing Excellence Awards
Full service creative agency CHS has won the ‘Best Financial Services Campaign’ category at the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards 2020 for its work with HSBC UK.
The Christchurch-based agency triumphed for its successful integrated digital marketing campaign created on behalf of HSBC UK to support the launch of the bank’s Rewards Credit Card.

The ‘It’s Payback Time’ campaign targeted current account customers across a media mix of online display, paid social, YouTube, Video on Demand (VoD), paid search and affiliates.
The CIM Marketing Excellence Awards identify and celebrate outstanding marketing by organisations, teams and individuals.
They recognise that high standards of quality and integrity are vital to the success of marketing.

Chris Southgate, Managing Director, CHS, pictured left, said: “We’re incredibly proud of this campaign, not just because of the fantastic results, or even the industry recognition it’s garnered, but because of how many of the CHS team were able to get involved.
“Team members across the account management, planning, creative, copy, design, video, photography and digital production teams have all had a part to play in this success.
“If there was ever an opportunity to showcase what ‘full-service’ really means, this was it.
“Winning this award gives us so many reasons to celebrate, not just because it marks our second financial service award in 12 months, but because it’s a nod to the fantastic work we do day-to-day going beyond expectation for our clients.”
CHS employs more than 50 people.
Services include catalogue production, strategic planning, branding and integrated campaigns that combine videography, photography, direct marketing, web design and advertising.

New support for volunteers at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care
Nicola Garsden has joined Poole-based Lewis-Manning Hospice Care in the role of Volunteers Manager.

She has extensive charity and healthcare knowledge and experience, having previously worked in the hospice sector for 13 years.

Nicola, pictured left, said, “I am really looking forward to getting to know all of our amazing volunteers and have ambitions to really support and grow the team.
“At Lewis-Manning Hospice Care we are always looking for new recruits and have a huge variety of different roles to fill: retail, day hospice, drivers, administration and complementary therapy.
“Not only would you be helping the charity and people in your local community, there are many personal benefits from volunteering, ranging from confidence building, to socialising, meeting new friends, gaining new skills and experience, which can be transferable to the workplace.
“We would also love to achieve the ‘Investing in Volunteers’ accreditation, which is a UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
“We really want to make every volunteer that comes to us feel truly valued and part of a brilliant team that’s achieving great things for our local patients.
“I would urge anyone interested in becoming a volunteer to get in contact, you can reach me by email Nicola.Garsden@lewis-manning.org.uk or call 01202 708470.

Clare Gallie, CEO, pictured right, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nicola.
“She joins at a pivotal time in our growth and will be an invaluable member of the team.
“We have a number of fantastic volunteers who help us to deliver our care and support our office and fundraising initiatives.
“Without them we simply would not be able to help the local people that we are here to care for.
“With Nicola’s experience and drive I am sure she will bring many more fantastic people on board to help.”

Calls to Dorset Digital Hotline increase during latest lockdown
A special hotline set up to help people with digital enquiries has seen the number of calls it receives almost triple in the first month of this lockdown.
From January 5 to February 5, the Dorset Digital Hotline received 132 calls.

The number is its largest monthly total and nearly three times the average monthly calls it received in the last quarter of 2020.
Operated by volunteer Digital Champions, the hotline helped people with a wide-range of enquiries, from using Zoom to what device they can buy.
The hotline was set up by Dorset Council last year during the first lockdown and when the Digital Champions were no longer able to help people face to face in libraries.

Cllr Peter Wharf, Dorset Council’s Deputy Leader, pictured left, said: “It’s clear that this demand on our hotline shows digital support is at its most needed when the country is in total lockdown.
“Right now, we are so reliant on digital to support us in working and schooling from home, connecting with family and friends and using online services.
“If people are experiencing digital problems, or just need general advice on using devices and getting online, it’s more important than ever that they can get help.
“I’m so pleased residents and businesses in Dorset are using our hotline and our Digital Champions to assist them during these difficult times.”
Digital Champion, Beverly Barker, said: “The volume of calls we received has shown how many more people are turning to digital devices to stay connected with friends and families, shop for the things they want and access the services they need.

“We are here to help with any problem, no matter how big or small.
“If we cannot help right there and then, we will search out solutions and go back to the caller.
“People should not suffer in silence; please call us if you have questions or find yourself stuck.”
The Digital Hotline – 01305 221048 – is open Mondays to Fridays from 10am to midday (except Bank Holidays).
Outside of these times you can leave a message and someone will get back to you.
