Dorset Tea has shown its support for a vital community group by donating both funds and tea to Ferndown Community Support.

The local tea company has wrapped up its 2024 “communi-tea” initiative by supporting the not for profit organisation, which provides a lifeline to many residents through its Community Larder, Food, Pet Food and Hygiene Bank. Founded in 2020, Ferndown Community Support aims to improve the health, connection, safety, and well-being of all residents. Driven by a dedicated team of 100 volunteers, the organisation fosters a spirit of community collaboration, with regular events, particularly at Christmas – where they seek to support the community and spread joy.

Dorset Tea’s contribution will be used to help fund the “Mission Santa Sacks” initiative, which provides festive gift packages tailored for children and young people aged 3 to 18. The donation will also go towards purchasing an urn for hot drinks at the community hub, creating a warm and welcoming space for people to gather.

“We’re very grateful to Dorset Tea,” says Hannah Hobbs-Chell, Founder of Ferndown Community Support. “Their donation will make a huge difference. Our Mission Santa Sacks bring Christmas magic to local children facing hardship, we rely on community support to make this possible.”

Lauren Forecast, Brand Manager at Dorset Tea, adds: “As a Dorset-based brand, we’re passionate about supporting our community, especially during the festive season. Partnering with Ferndown Community Support allows us to make a real difference right on our doorstep, helping local families and individuals who need it most this December.”

Ferndown Community Support CIC relies on the help of others to support the local community and ensure residents feel safe and well. You can donate financially through their website or offer essential items for the Community Larder and Hygiene Bank. Their dedicated team is always looking for volunteers to help with various projects too.
