Electrical specialist partners with US firm to bring Covid-busting air purification unit to UK

A Dorset-based electrical specialist has partnered with an American company to bring a Covid-busting air purification unit to the UK and Europe.

South Coast Electrical Solutions has been appointed reseller and installer for AtmosAir.

The US firm says laboratory studies have proved its ground-breaking technology can neutralise coronavirus by 99.92 per cent.

It uses a natural, certified ozone-free process called bipolar ionization to neutralise viruses and contaminants in the air and on surfaces.

Integrated into heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, the technology has already proven effective against SARS, norovirus, and several influenza strains.

It has now been used in New York’s Empire State Building, major sports venues, airports and Virgin Voyages’ new cruise ship, Scarlet Lady.

Danny Lewis, Director, South Coast Electrical Solutions, said: “The product will significantly improve the air quality in any space installed and will add one more layer of defence in the fight against coronavirus.

“It all sounds far-fetched to say we have a product that can stop coronavirus – but it’s proven and it works.

“The complex process is basically positive and negative ions being pushed into the air of a ‘target’ space.

“They essentially latch onto virus, bacteria, mould and dust particles, rendering them inactive and unable to infect by deconstructing them at a molecular level.

“The product, which also reduces energy emissions and usage, can be installed in offices, cruise ships, trains, buses, theatre and more.

“I now have a Business Development Manager – Steven Reed – in our Malaga office who is also specifically targeting private schools and hospitals.

“My team are ready to install the virus-beating product across Britain and Europe.”

Danny, 42, founded South Coast Electrical Solutions eight years ago.

A qualified electrician, his previous posts included acting as Project Manager for the London 2012 Olympics where he was responsible for the electrical feeds for the stadiums and broadcasters.

The South Coast Electrical Solutions team after a project on the vessel Windstar Wind Surf awarded by MJM Marine.

South Coast Electrical Solutions now employs six staff with up to 55 sub-contractors.

The company specialises in the marine industry with its team of electrical, data and CCTV engineers ready to be deployed anywhere in the world to work on vessels of all sizes, either in dock or while sailing.

Clients include Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.

Danny and Zena Lewis

Danny, a father of two – soon to be three as his wife, Zena, also a Director with South Coast Electrical Solutions, is 20 weeks pregnant – admitted his company was encountering scepticism about the Covid-busting air purification product.

But, he said: “The product has been extensively tested and proven to work.

“It should be regarded as part of the line of defence against coronavirus.

“It won’t cure people who may already be suffering Covid symptoms but it will neutralise viruses and contaminants in the air and on surfaces.”
