The Dorset Apprenticeship Awards are set to return this spring, recognising the success of apprentices at all levels.
Hosted by Dorset Chamber alongside Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network (DSTPN) and sponsored by local manufacturing firm Superior, the awards have been running since 2022.
Entries are now open across five categories, including a new accolade for supported internship of the year.
The other categories are for level 2 (intermediate) apprentices; level 3 (advanced); level 4 or 5 (higher); and degree apprentices.
Ian Girling, chief executive of Dorset Chamber, said: “Apprentices are a fantastic way to both recruit and train people, and they make an invaluable contribution to the organisations they work for.
“Our awards seek to give some richly deserved recognition for all apprentices and highlight the achievements of those individuals who have gone above and beyond.”
Last year’s winners included intermediate apprentice of the year Sergejs Murnikovs of Hendy Group, advanced apprentice of the year Ellie Hubble of Redtale Group, and higher and degree apprentice of the year Elliott Smith of Draken.

The awards are free to enter for those who are currently undertaking an apprenticeship programme or have completed one within the last 12 months.
Entrants must be living and working in Dorset, though their employer may be based outside of the county.
Applications close on 30 March ready for the awards ceremony at Superior in Ferndown with the lord-lieutenant of Dorset on 15 May.
