As a woman in tech, I sometimes get asked how I got into the industry or what I enjoy most about working in technology as a Solutions Consultant.

What do I enjoy most about my job?

I love the variety of projects I get to work on in a week. My week might start with an ERP Accounts configuration, then move onto a data import and finish with user training. There’s always something different to get my teeth stuck into and a new challenge to solve.

As someone who has worked in finance roles previously, I know from firsthand experience how frustrating it can be using multiple systems, all with their own ‘unique’ processes and how much time is lost from using legacy solutions that simply don’t work together. This helps me immensely when working with customers and understanding their biggest pain points. One of my favourite parts of my job is delivering training to our clients, getting to know their team, and helping them to navigate their new business systems and transform their processes to be more efficient.

Working with a wide range of businesses provides me with an insight into different industries. This month alone I have worked with a leading Cookware retailer, a training provider and a medical supplies business. This experience helps me understand how different sectors typically operate and some of their industry specific challenges.

I find it very rewarding when our clients can see the final outcome of the project and benefit from automation and seeing their instant relief when they no longer need to worry about manual and time-consuming processes.
