Dorset law firm Frettens has added extra firepower to its employment team.

Chris Dobbs has joined the Christchurch-based business after four years with a firm of solicitors in Surrey, dealing mainly with unfair dismissal and workplace discrimination claims.

He is a graduate of Loughborough University and Guildford University of Law.

Chris joins Paul Burton, Head of Employment, and Kate Fretten, Partner, in the employment team.

Paul said: “I am delighted Chris has chosen to relocate.

“He is clearly a talented lawyer but more importantly, in such a complex area of the law, has the ability to communicate clearly and simply with our clients.

“There are not that many firms in the Bournemouth area with a specialist employment solicitor, so for Frettens now to have three, all working exclusively on employment and HR matters, is quite remarkable.“

Frettens was founded 41 years ago when Ian Fretten began practising as a sole practitioner in Christchurch on January 1, 1978.

He retired in 2012 and his son, Matthew, took over as Managing Partner.

The firm, which also has an office in Ringwood, handles corporate, employment, commercial property and commercial dispute resolution work as well as family, wills & tax and conveyancing.
